Be careful out there: Freezing rain predicted overnight

Homewood and Flossmoor could see up to two-tenths of an inch of ice accumulate on area roads overnight, according to an alert posted by the National Weather Service.

A freezing rain advisory will be in effect from 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, to 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.

Road are expected to become treacherous during the advisory period. NWS officials urge motorists to drive slowly.

We're looking for reports from anyone who has encountered panhandlers in Homewood in recent weeks. We're curious whether there have been more lately, whether the requests from panhandlers are polite or aggressive and what approaches they use to invite donations. Your stories will help inform a story about the subject in The Chronicle.
